There are foods that lower blood sugar, and foods that raise it. White sugar, white bread, white rice and even white salt are NOT foods that lower blood sugar!!! They raise it! Cut them out of your diet IMMEDIATELY! Please! If you must have sugar, buy raw sugar, and of course try and cut down on it. Brown rice, although it takes a little longer, tastes just as good as white rice (put in extra water to soften it up). And there are so many tasty whole wheat breads, there’s no reason not to switch. (I know, this is a lot more than 2 things, but I want to make it simple for you.)
High fructose corn syrup is the bane of my existence, and it should be your bane, too. Again, it is NOT a food that lowers blood sugar. In fact, it is the biggest pestilence, a scourge, to all diabetics and you should treat it that way. Read your labels! It’s in almost EVERYTHING, so this might take some getting used to, but it will make you feel much better. Regular soda and many, many ‘fruit juices’ must be eliminated, as they’re filled with this poison.
As for white salt, try sea salt, celtic sea salt or kosher salt-or cut it completely. Regular table salt raises blood pressure-very bad for those trying to lower blood sugar. The other salts aren’t nearly as bad for you.

My mother-in-law makes a bitter melon juice extraction to control her diabetes. She is 83 and she does NOT take insulin shots. She boils the melon, but not too much, then strains the juice through a cheese cloth. Old school style. You can use the blender. I cannot rave enough about this melon-it’s by far one of the top natural remedies for high blood sugar.
Prickly Pear Cactus
